Who doesn’t love a good rec?

Here are 10 more great recs you need in your life!

Swedish Dishcloths

I’m a big fan of Swedish Dishcloths. They are very absorbent, clean up tough messes, and can just be thrown in the washer to clean.

A single Swedish Dishcloth is equivalent to up to 15 paper towels. A single Swedish Dishcloth can be reused up to 100+ times. In the end, they are great for your wallet and the environment. Depending on the brand you purchase they are also biodegradable.

I purchase my Swedish Dishcloths at Trax Farm; they sell the brand Ecologie.

Another Round | Movie

Another Round is a great Danish movie about a group of four men at different points of their adulthood who want to experiment with Finn Skårderud‘s theory on becoming more relaxed and creative depending on your blood alcohol level.

It’s a great movie for those who are in their 30s and 40s — who are now bridging different parts of their adulthood. The movie is directed by Thomas Vinterberg, and stars Mads MikkelsenThomas Bo LarsenMagnus Millang, and Lars Ranthe.

The movie is on Prime and Hulu. I’d recommend with subtitles, not a dub.

MindNode

MindeNode is a digital mind map. I use MindeNode for personal and work projects. A Mind Map helps me plan out how a website is to be laid out for a client to use and which pieces which parts of the site will intersect.

I also use MindeNode for organizing my plants, which plants need specific watering schedules, sun, and the location in the home.

Soda Stream

I have had a Soda Stream for about 2.5 years now, and it was the best purchase I have ever made. We drink a lot of Seltzer water in our home; at one point we were drinking between 2 or 3 12 packs a week, on top of buying seltzer out. I felt as though it was becoming an issue with our carbon footprint.

Now we have four reusable dishwasher-safe bottles in the fridge full of cold water, and I’ll fizz water when needed or if we head out. We don’t drink out of our bottles, we have glass water bottles we do transfer them in to drink out of or when we’re on the go.

I’ll squeeze fresh lime or lemon to add a little bit of flavor. I have not used Soda Stream flavors. I also make homemade ginger juice to then fizz for cocktails. It’s also great for making Titos and seltzer!

Lastly, I know you’re thinking; that Co2 is expensive. Soda Stream has a National At-Home Delivery and Exchange of SodaStream CO2 program on their site. Amazon has an exchange program as well; they give you a gift card for your exchange. Lastly, I exchange mine at Target; it takes less than 5 minutes.

Use the code Code: SAVE20 to receive 20% off your own Soda Stream.

Walking Treadmill

I have a Kicode Walking Treadmill and it has been a game-changer! I use it 3 or 4 times a day, it’s been a great addition to my home. In the morning and throughout the day if I don’t need my second monitor like right now I’ll walk on my Kicode Walking Treadmill. It’s great for answering emails, writing posts, or browsing Amazon.

Before, I’d always feel bad for watching TV or watching more than one movie a day. Now, I’ll walk on my Kicode Walking Treadmill while watching TV or a movie. That way I don’t feel guilty for sitting and doing nothing while bingeing.

You can also do a light jog on the Kicode Walking Treadmill. I’ve recently got back into jogging to help burn off steam or when I’m feeling a bit down. It’s been helpful, and I’ll watch plant videos as I’m jogging, so it helps the mood.

I’d recommend purchasing a walking treadmill if you work from home or are looking to be a little more active.

Iron Born Pizza

If you live in Pittsburgh or plan to visit Pittsburgh — I’d recommend visiting Iron Born Pizza in The Strip DistrictIron Born Pizza has great pizza; they are one of my favorite pizza places. Not only do they have a great selection of fresh pizzas with great ingredients, but they have delicious pasta as well. 10 out of 10 would recommend stopping in for a slice or two.

Simple Being Trash Bags

In our house I try VERY hard not to have waste, we try to go zero waste whenever we can. However, that’s not always possible. After almost 3 years of research, multiple trash bag testing, and countless annoyances I finally found a plant-based biodegradable trash bag! The one and only Simple Being Plant-Based Compostable Tall Kitchen Trash Bags!

The Simple Being Trash Bags are durable, leakproof, and biodegrade very quickly. How do I know they biodegrade quickly? Well, I threw away a couple of banana peels and dirt I managed to drop all over the floor when re-potting a plant. I didn’t think anything of it and a couple of days day my trash bag had a hole started to form where the peels and dirt were laying.

Note we don’t have much trash, we try very hard to be zero waste — we might use a trash bag every two weeks. Now there will be weeks — don’t come at me — we’ll have two or three.

The Simple Being Trash Bags are $23.95 for a roll of 45, or about 55¢ a trash bag. Compared to several other “eco-friendly” trash bags, that’s a great price for what you’re receiving. Simple Being Trash Bags are durable for heavy items, there are no smells, and they biodegrade quickly.

Petit Pot Pudding

If you follow me on Instagram you know how much Zoie & I love Petit Pot french pudding, especially their rice pudding! I kept my Imperfect Foods membership for months because I was buying Petit Pot Rice pudding since it was the only place I could get it!

Now I get my fix for Petit Pot pudding at Whole Foods. They also have more flavors, besides our favorites rice and dark chocolate! We also enjoy hazelnut, lemon, and Zoie’s favorite coffee.

Brusters Ice Cream Rewards

I have lactose intolerance — does it stop me from eating ice cream? Absolutely not. One of our favorite places to go is Brusters Ice Cream! Our favorite Brusters is the one in McMurray; their store manager is awesome, and their staff is always super friendly.

Brusters Ice Cream also has a super great rewards program! Signup and receive a FREE $5.00 coupon for your birthday and exclusive coupons throughout the year. For every dollar you spend you receive points. Those points are turned into dollars off your orders.

Malk

I like coffee creamer in my coffee. Don’t come at me I like to add a little creamer. However, I’m not about sweet coffee it’s not my thing. I also don’t like 90 ingredients in my creamer. I recently found Malk; three to four natural ingredients, and a great addition to my morning coffee. If you’re looking for a creamer alternative without additives, gums, and not sweet try out Malk. I switch it up from the Oat and Almond Malk.
