I’m enjoying sharing my rec’s with you guys!

So here are 10 Extra Awesome Rec’s that you need in your life!

  1. Chime
My bank was bought out by PNC, the worst bank possible. So it was time to switch, and I chose to switch to Chime.

Chime has no overdraft fees, no hidden fees, they will mail checks for you for FREE, and they have SpotMe. SpotMe is where Chime will spot you a certain amount of money that you do not have, instead of charging you an overdraft.

You can turn off transactions on your card, turn off international travel, etc. They have a great support team in case you have an issue with someone taking your card numbers. Also, their Credit Builder Card is amazing, my credit score went up 65 points with using it for one month.

Highly recommend making the switch to Chime, oh and depending on your employer you could get paid up to two days earlier! Click here and receive a FREE $75.00!
  2. Prodigy
Prodigy is my favorite game for Zoie to play; it’s a game she also loves to play. It’s an RPG, but with an educational math part. Children are given a character, where they go out into the world, and they have to fight villains and monsters. But, they have to answer math questions based on their skill level to fight back.

Parents are given updates, they can see how the child answered the questions, etc. You can also send your child potions and gifts to be used within the game. Also, with a membership, your child receives a free math tutor. We haven’t used this feature yet, but it’s a great option. Highly recommend it for children, especially over the summer.
  3. Please Advise Newsletter
If you work in advertising, marketing, or even own your own business this is such a great newsletter to subscribe to. They have a daily point they talk about; but not overwhelming, a photo, a task of the day to go along with that point, and usually an app/website rec. Highly recommend checking it out.
  4. Lemonade
I currently rent, and like everyone nowadays I have many electronics in my house. So, I needed great renters insurance but didn’t want to break the bank. Lemonade has affordable plans that fit your lifestyle. It’s easy to signup, right through the app. They also have a great customer service chat option if you need help.
  5. Ruby Flora
In the past year, I’ve started to like having house plants. It’s a hobby I picked up from other friends, and I enjoy researching different plants. I have over 50 plants in my house from all different locations, and seeds I’ve found.

Ruby Flora is my favorite local small business, who also just opened a storefront in Bethel Park! She’s super helpful, knowledgeable, and grows a number of these plants herself. So check out her storefront, or she ships plants as well. Oh, and Ruby Flora has several other items for yourself or the plant lover in your life.
  6. Reusable Water Balloons
Water balloons take forever to fill and do not last long. Especially with small children, a pack of 50 is used up within five seconds. Reusable Water Balloons have already been the best investment! The kids will throw them, place them back in a large bin full of water and go right back to it. Money well spent for all-day fun!
  7. BrüMate
I went to a picnic and everyone had a BrüMate; so of course, I had to buy one! Well, I ended up buying three. I have the HOPSULATOR TRÍO, HOPSULATOR BOTT’L, and the IMPERIAL PINT. They HOPSULATOR TRÍO and HOPSULATOR BOTT’L both keep my beers very cold! Also, I have left a beer in my HOPSULATOR TRÍO overnight and it’s still cold in the morning. My IMPERIAL PINT has also been great for keeping my iced coffee cold, ice is intact with these hot summer days. Highly recommend for BrüMate this summer.

  8. Rakuten
Rakuten is my favorite cashback site, why because they ACTUALLY give you cashback. All you do is sign up for a Rakuten account, find the retailer you’d like to shop with click their name, shop, checkout, and in a couple of days, you’ll receive the agreed percent back.

When I bought my washer and dryer — three years ago — I started a Lowes shopping trip online, during Labor Day Weekend. Not only did I receive the holiday discount, but I was able to use a coupon I received for moving, and 10% back with Rakuten! I really made out on that deal.

If you shop at Target, you can get between 1-5% cashback on pickup or delivery orders. Not all categories are on the cashback plan for Target, so I’ll order what is for pickup with Rakuten, go do my shopping, and then pick up my order after checkout.

You can also link your card(s) to your account and receive cashback at certain stores; Old Navy and Gap are the two I use the most, especially during back-to-school clothes shopping.

Click here to signup for a Rakuten account and receive $30.
  9. Kinderlyte Natural Electrolyte Powder
First, let me just say I am the worst at drinking water, chances are if it isn’t a beer I’m not chugging it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Which between the porch beers, a massive amount of coffee, and never drinking water Kinderlyte Natural Electrolyte Powder are a lifesaver. They have prebiotics, 80% less sugar than other electrolyte packets, and no added colors or flavoring.

Kinderlyte Natural Electrolyte Powder is great after a night of drinking or just being outside jumping on a bounce house in the hot sun. Highly recommend the wild berry flavor, that’s my favorite. Your body will thank you for these packets this summer; so buy a box and stay hydrated this summer.
  10. Root Insurance
Car insurance is expensive; especially when you’ve been in three accidents. To be fair one was not my fault, I hit a pack of black ice. But, insurance companies don’t see it that way. But seriously when I bought my 2019 Jetta State Farm wanted my insurance to be $398 a month, not a year or bi-monthly, a MONTH. Who can afford that, with a $600 deductible? I’m not made of money.

I started looking into other insurances, and I found Root Insurance. They do ask you a lot of questions, way more than other insurance agencies, but this is to build the right insurance policy for you. Once you finish the questionnaire you are shown your policy and can make adjustments, in which they show you the price point adjustment for making that specific change. Once you approve your plan you then have a trial period, if you are considered to be a safe driver you are accepted.

They make changing your policy simple, and always show you the prices, nothing is hidden, unlike State Farm. Also, filing a claim or contacting customer support is extremely simple, all done within the app. So if you’re looking for reliable, affordable car insurance I highly recommend Root Insurance.

I hope one of these 10 Extra Awesome Rec’s benefit you, and you enjoy them as much as I do.
