Oh college, what a crazy time in my life!
I went to school to the Art Institue of York PA, and graduated back in March 2013!  With an associates in Web Design & a bachelors in Web Development & Interactive Media.  Sad part AIYP closed its doors not too long after I left, such a sad moment.

A lot of random classes that didn’t matter; like calculus, logic and even poetry!

However, my favorite class, which had nothing to do with my degree, was History of Film!  The class covered every decade of film, from the very beginning of the era, starting with silent films. It was extremely interesting to see how the industry got its start.

We watched a lot of different clips from each era and learned behind the scenes about how movies were made and how the process changed through the years. It was interesting how back in the beginning color couldn’t just be added, it had to be added to the actual film.  Special effects weren’t actually a thing, lots of props, bad makeup was used, mini sets to make explosions or even hand-drawn animated films.

The class gave me an appreciation for where movies got their start.  It wasn’t a blockbuster every week in the movie theaters, or surfing through Netflix for 1 of thousands of films!
