Looking for a new recipe to try out in your slow cooker?
We’re always eating the same old foods; mac & cheese, burgers, raviolis, sandwiches, and it was time to try something new.
Bok Choy was on sale, so I thought why not, let’s try it out. I will have to say it turned out pretty delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 Bok Choy
- 2 Tablespoons of Minced Garlic
- 1 Pound Beef Stir Fry
- 3 Tablespoons of Flour
- 1/4 Cup Hoisin Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Rice Vinegar
- 1/4 Cup of Honey
- 1/2 Cup of Water
- 3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
Tools
- Slow Cooker
- Cutting Board
- Measuring Spoons
- Measuring Cups
- Whisk
- Kitchen Knifes
- Medium Mixing Bowl
- Rubber Spatula
Recipe
- Split and rinse your bok choy, sat to the side to dry
- In the medium mixing bowl combine: minced garlic, flour, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, water, and soy sauce
- Stir with the whisk, set to the side
- In the slow cooker place the beef stir fry
- Now pour the liquid mixture over top of the beef stir fry and mix with the rubber spatula
- Now grab your bok choy, and cut the leaf off the stem
- After you’ve removed the leaf from the stem, set the leaf off to the side for later (I placed mine in a dishtowel on the counter)
- Take 3 bok choy stems and dice them into small cubes, and then place into the slow cooker
- Mix all contents in the slow cooker with the rubber spatula
- Place the lid to the slow cooker and cook for 4 hours on low or 8 hours on high
- 20 minutes before you are to serve, mince the bok choy leaves and mix into the slow cooker contents
- Serve on a bed of sticky rice
