Clean and/or change your filters!

For everything! The washer, dryer, dishwasher, vacuum, coffee machine, and furnace. I’m sure I am forgetting an appliance or two.

I learned the very hard way about not cleaning the dishwasher and washer filter!

My washer filter snapped because of a paper clip and leaked all over the wall. $5k worth of damage because of a $17.52 filter!

A couple of other recommendations! Buy Washing Machine Cleaner. They can be picked up at Target or Amazon and run a tab once a month! They are inexpensive, with a max of $11.

Besides cleaning your dishwasher filter, run a monthly Dishwasher Cleaner. I like the Finish brand, around $5 on Amazon & Target.

If you haven’t lately — you need to clean your dryer vents. Build-up can lead to a house fire, which no one wants. I bought a vacuum attachment that goes deep into the dryer. I took the hose off the back and used it in the hose.

Clean your coffee pot, and change the filter! Most people don’t realize there is a filter at the bottom of the water tank, REPLACE THIS. You could be drinking moldy coffee.

If you’re like me, your coffee maker does not have a filter, however, you probably need to descale the waterline. This is one thing I often forget to do, and I wait for Nespresso to send me a descale package.

So this is 100% your reminder to clean or replace your filters. Also, set a reminder in your calendar, or have Alexa remind you X days from now to change or clean them. Keep your home as healthy and happy, so you don’t have to pay an outrageous insurance bill in the end.
