Schedule time for yourself.
Thanksgiving is in a couple of days, which means the holiday season is really in full swing.
The stress of buying gifts, attending parties, and the list can go on forever. That means you’ll have very little time for yourself. That can be mentally exhausting.
So today, schedule a couple of moments, days, or post-holiday vacation. Whatever. Just schedule time for you. It doesn’t have to be anything big.
Maybe schedule a day off work to have a day in bed. Book yourself a mani-pedi. Take the day off work and start at the wall.
Have kids, see if a friend can take them for a couple of hours. If not possible, give your kids an iPad in a room with a tv, a tackle box of snacks, plugin a blink camera, and go sit in the bathtub for 30 minutes.
Remember, that this is just temporary for a couple of weeks out o the year. Your weight is fine, being single is fine, not wanting to have kids is fine, and your cooking skills are just fine. Don’t let people bother you.
Don’t have enough money for gifts? Tell people no. Say hey, inflation is wild out here, raincheck on the gift. People will understand, and if they don’t then they don’t matter.
Whatever you have to do, just take time to reset, and remind yourself it’s only a couple of weeks. It will be okay.
