You read that right, have a YES DAY!
This week, this month, or sometime in the near future have a Yes Day.
What is a Yes Day? A Yes Day is whenever you say yes to everything, within reason.
Zoie & I recently had a Yes Day, and it was so much fun! Was it exhausting, absolutely, but 100% worth it.
We started off our Yes Day by setting a couple of rules for our Yes Day!
- You have to keep safety in mind; nothing that would harm or hurt us or someone else
- Nothing long term; no animals, new cars, tattoos, piercings, vacations
- Could not do anything that caused the damage; no carwashes with the windows open, no breaking of times, etc
- A budget was set, we couldn’t just go blow money
- Maybe another Yes Day in the future
Once our rules were established we started Yes Day! It started with only listening to Steven Universe music for the day. Also, I couldn’t talk about anything Harry Potter related or Fantastic Beast.
Then a carwash for Vinnie at All Washed Up! Zoie loves carwashes, however, we don’t get them that often.
We then headed to Target, where we had to get Starbucks, I had to eat a cake pop. We also got a big Dino Squishmallow who Zoie named Bob.
We headed over to Urban Air for two hours of playing! We had pizza and an ICEE brain freeze challenge. We left there and headed to the YMCA for an hour of swimming! We played shark, dived for goggles, and did cannonballs!
We then went over to 412 Brewing — where we met up with friends. Bob joined us at our table, and we enjoyed cheese fries, chicken tenders, and a delicious Nutella Crepe from PGH Crepes.
We headed home — where we played multiple rounds of tag, watched Steven Universe, and played Mario Kart!
It was one of the best days! We had so much fun just enjoying each other’s company. I only used my phone to take pictures and share them on social, but I didn’t answer emails or work. We had fun conversations, we talked a little more than we normally did with no distractions, and it was just fun.
If you have the chance do a Yes Day. With your kids, your friends, or your spouse. It was such a great experience for us. I can’t wait to do it again in a couple of months.
