Today is Thanksgiving!
I hope that everyone has a very full plate and their sweatpants are stretchy.
This year I’d have to say has been better than 2020, but like every year we have our ups and downs. Through it all, there are always things to be thankful for.
As I sip my peppermint coffee — it’s not too early Nespresso makes a great pod — I reflect on my past year and all the things I do have to be thankful for. So grab yourself a drink and let’s dive into what I’m thankful for this year.
Home
Just like the majority of the world, I’m still hanging out in my home. I’m thankful to have a comfortable place I can move around in, decorate and keep at the warm temperature of 81 degrees. Even though this year multiple appliances broke and I had to become a handy human — it was a learning experience.
We’ve been able to upgrade a lot of items in the home as well; a new coffee machine, office furniture, new bathroom decor, kitchen appliances, artwork, storage, etc. It has been nice to be home. We are starting to grow out of our space with being home, so we’ll have to see where the year takes us.
New Job w/ Fun Co-Workers
This September I went back to agency life — well virtual agency life. I started a position at Pixelsmith as a Developer. It has been a nice change of pace; back into working on projects in different industries, not the same industry every day.
As always I’m thankful for my fun coworkers who make each day enjoyable. Even though we’re not in the office we’re able to connect through video chats, virtual happy hours, and of course good old slack. I’d have to say this group of coworkers are by far the funniest I’ve worked with, and we vibe pretty well which is nice.
New Friends & Old Friends
This has been the year of the friendships — I’ve lost several friends (they’re not dead, well to me they are), strengthened old friendships, and made several new friends.
This past summer was the year of new friendships with side yard cookouts, late-night fires, and basement Alexa karaoke. I’ll have to say I’m thankful for these friendships as I was able to make. What even made it better; many other friendships came into this new circle and fit right in.
I’m looking forward to continuing to grow these friendships and intertwining old friendships.
Blog & Social Media Followers
First time I think I’ve ever put this down on my list, but I’m pretty thankful for everyone who follows me. Without the followers I have would not be able to test these cool products or have a reason to keep this blog going. So if you’re a follower thank you for making this side project prosper so wildly. Keep reading, sharing, and giving feedback — it’s always appreciated.
Zoie
This child gives me a run for my money every single day. She’s wild, imaginative, sassy, a prankster, and resilient. She puts up with all my craziness, my requests to smile for the Gram, my obsessive shopping habits, and my need for plants.
With homeschooling and a whole summer together we’ve become closer. Yea, we get on each other’s nerves — that’s what happens when you make a mini version of yourself — but at the end of the day nothing a hug and chocolate pudding can’t fix.
As the year comes to a close we really don’t know how the world will go. But, I’m looking forward to another year of blogging, hanging out with friends, and making the internet a better place.
Happy Thanksgiving Tiff 🦃
PS; please continue to support your local food bank through the holiday season into the new year — not just this one time of year. They’re always in need, and remember a number of them you can send items to through Amazon — so you don’t even have to leave your couch.
