BeNat

Trying to find products that are sustainable, low to zero waste, all-natural, and in an affordable price range can be hard.

I recently came across an Etsy shop called BeNat, and they fit all of those marks.

BeNat is a company that was started by a mom of three to provide products that are ethically sourced, free of harmful chemicals, and will keep the users nice and clean!

Not only are BeNat products great for your body, but they are okay for Mother Nature. All packaging is either biodegradable, recyclable, or can be reused over and over.

I had the chance to try out a number of great BeNat products; I will have to say I was impressed and happy with every item.

First off — let’s start with the shampoo & conditioner bar. Both bars came in a biodegradable wrap, which I was able to place in my compost bin, which I thought was genius. The shampoo bar smelled great; I tried the Bergamontwhich is for all types of hair. I have to say I like that when I opened the package the shampoo bar was not all sandy, it was all in-tacked. The past couple of companies I’ve tried shampoo bars are gritty when first opening and the first couple washes. The BeNat shampoo bar was not, and I was able to use it right away. Another difference, which was fine with me, might not be for others — my shampoo bar did not make a lot of bubbles — it did sudds up but wasn’t very sudsy. I’ve been using the shampoo bar for over two weeks now, and my hair is clean, my scalp is clean, and I’m enjoying it.

As for the conditioner bar, I don’t have anything to compare this to. The BeNat conditioner bar was the first one, and I will have to say it does leave my hair nice and soft. I like that it does not leave my hands all oily or my bathtub floor. I will have to say I will be switching to conditioner bars instead of bottles.

Another cool item that I received was a bamboo soap bar dish; which I’m using for the condition bar. I like this dish more than the eco-plastic soap lift I use for my shampoo bar. It’s easier to clean, nothing is hidden in-between the rungs, etc.

Oral care is important plastic toothbrushes and plastic tubes are not easily recyclable. I love my Quip toothbrush, but it’s not biodegradable, and the heads are not recyclable. I’m trying to find a more sustainable option, and BeNat has a great alternative, a bamboo soft toothbrush. My teeth felt clean after using both toothpaste and powder. Once I am done using the toothbrush I will be able to throw the toothbrush in my compost bin — which I think is very cool.

With a toothbrush, you need toothpaste or toothpowder. I’ve tried several toothpowders, and this one was okay. For me okay, you may be great. First off, my only complaint, and this shouldn’t be a complaint they fill this thing to the brim! You receive a FULL tin of toothpowder, so much it’s a little hard to re-close. Again, not a real complaint. Second, the toothpowder has a STRONG flavor, like REALLY STRONG. But, it REALLY gets your teeth clean, it’s the cleanest my teeth have felt while brushing at home. The flavor only lasts while brushing, as soon as you rinse your mouth out the flavor is gone, but your breath is minty fresh. Again, I’ve used this toothpowder every night before bed and it is by far the best toothpowder and toothpaste I’ve tried. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend and I will be giving this to people this year in their stockings.

Lastly the zero-waste deodorant, I want to be upfront, I don’t use deodorant. I don’t sweat a lot, don’t get me wrong — I put it on when I go out and in the summer, but I don’t wear deodorant in the winter. So I might not be the best judge. My experience was great though; it was easy to use, smelt great, didn’t have clumping, and I smelt fine all day.

All and all I would highly recommend BeNat products for the whole family. Zoie & I really have been enjoying the new shampoo bar and toothpowder. They have a lot of other great products like; kids & teen deodorant, blush, lotion bars, soap bars, and much more.
