Oh the classic goals lists.

I probably have notebooks upon notebooks full of goals; short-term, long-term, daily, weekly, monthly, etc. But, no surprise — the goals that are written down do not often get accomplished.

In the past year goal setting has not been a priority in my life. I’m just trying to get through the day and make it to the next one alive. So in 2021, that’s going to change!

  1. Determine A Digital Goal Tracking
In the past I’ve used Trello to set goals & tasks for myself; it has worked great since it does sync with my Google calendar & Alexa. Also, the mobile app is easy and real-time updates, so I can hop on my Mac at the end of the day to see any tasks I’ve made on the go.

I want to do a little more research; because I want to make sure whatever platform I decided it integrates with; Google calendar; Alexa, Slack, etc. Also, has to have a great app for me being on the go.
  2. Live More Stataniabily
This one is a daily struggle; that does keep me up at night & is a continuous conversation in therapy. For the most part, my house is sustainable; we have biodegradable trash bags, we recycle EVERYTHING, we reuse containers from other food, we use reusable containers, we do not use single-use items, family cloth, etc. We upgraded our compost bin this year to help lower food waste. Before fruits and vegetables turn rotten, I turn them into cubes to add to sauces or smoothies.

However, I struggle with product packaging! Why does everything come in packaging you cannot recycle. Sometimes I really do just want a bag of bad chips, and the worst part I don’t feel guilty about eating the chips after it’s the bag.

I also, found out that we have to switch our Quip toothbrushes because the heads are not recyclable. This one REALLY bumbed me out.

My goal for this is to continue with what is working; while trying to change packaging buying and find a new toothbrush.
  3. Declutter My House
Over the past year, I’ve been good about boxing up items that we do not use, we’ve outgrown, or just no longer want. I want to continue on this path.

To help declutter I’ve purchased clear bins, of different sizes, from IKEA. Each bin is labeled, for example; Christmas, and only Christmas items can go in this bin, and if the bin cannot shut I have to pick what to remove and sell to have the bin shut.

Facebook Market Place now offers to ship with listings; which has helped with decluttering. Also, still going strong selling on Mercari.
  4. Take A Step Back
In Day 17: A Long Term Goal, I mentioned my long-term goal was; Stepping away from those who do not celebrate my wins.

To help achieve my long goal I must first take a step back, take a deep breath and ask myself — do I really need this or them in my life?
  5. Daily Do It
Every day with my coffee I make a daily to-do list; usually in my head, but I want to expand on that. I want to do a 15-20 minute daily brainstorm and write things down. I use to do this with blog post ideas. I stopped because the majority of posts never went anywhere, and I felt defeated. With that blog posts stoped being posted, and I just gave up.

I purchased two new notebooks just for ideas; one for blog posts & another for items for my Etsy shop. I want to expand on both. More DIY projects and recipes for the blog. Not only more cards for my Etsy shop, but stickers and digital downloads.

I love offering digital downloads for free on my blog, but I’m to the point I want to start charging at least a dollar or two.

So there you have it, five short-term goals, all helping me live my life and supporting my long-term goal. Make sure to follow my two Instagram accounts to continue to follow my journey on these goals.

Suggestions on how to achieve these goals are also appreciated!
