When everyone thinks of tofu they think a mushy & flavorless!
Tofu doesn’t have to be mushy or flavorless if you cook it correctly!
Tools
- 2 Dinner Plates
 - 1 Thick Dish Towel
 - 1 Silicone Baking Mat
 - 1 Heavy Object
 - 1 Knife
 - 1 Cooking Stone
 - 1 Cutting Board
 - 1 Mixing Bowl
 - 1 Rubber Spatula
 - 1 Oven
 - 1 Refrigerator
 - 1 Set of Oven Mitts

Ingredients
- Extra Firm Tofu
 - 1 Bottle of Teriyaki Sauce or Budget Bytes Recipe

Recipe
- Drain tofu from package
 - Wrap tofu in the thick dish towel
 - Place the wrapped between the 2 plates & place the heavy object on top (I use a container of water)
 - Let the wrapped tofu sit for 20-50 minutes. The towel will observe the excess water
- Skip steps 2-3 if you are using a TofuPress

 - After you let the tofu sit for 20-50 minutes remove from the towel wrapping and place on cutting board
 - While on cutting board cut the tofu into desired chunks, preferably 1×1″
 - Place tofu chunks in the mixing bowl, and pour teriyaki sauce over top, and mix with a rubber spatula. Let the mixture marinate for 20-30 minutes in the refrigerator
 - Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees
 - Remove tofu teriyaki mixture from the refrigerator after 20-30 minutes
 - Place the silicon baking mat onto the cooking stone, and pour the tofu teriyaki mixture onto the silicon baking mat
 - Once the oven has pre-heated place in the oven for 20 minutes, after 20 minutes broil for 5-10 minutes
 - Remove the cooking stone from the oven
- Please remember to use an oven mitt, to not burn your hand(s)

 - Let the tofu teriyaki sit for 5 minutes, and serve!

I absolutely love to eat the tofu teriyaki on top of brown rice!
