Want to be an adventurous parent and want to take your kids out into the wild? These 8 items will make sure you have a safe, clean and successful!
- Water Bottle – Hydration is key, especially when exercising in the sun. Highly recommend the Ello Stainless Steel Water Bottle, straw included and has a locking lid.
- Mosquito Repellent Bracelet – Mosquito bites can make anyone miserable, and spraying kids down with repellent is tough. Mosquito Repellent Bracelets keep your kids protected & you don’t have to worry!
- Sunscreen – There will be shade, but the sun still will peak through, sunscreen is a high priority! Sunburn is horrible, but sun poisoning can be worse! Would recommend ThinkSport Kids; SPF 50+, water resistant and must be reapplied every 80 minutes!res
- Travel Potty – Chances are a bathroom break will have to happen, literally in the middle of nowhere! Not all kids can just squat to do a #1 or they may have to go #2. The OXO Travel Potty is perfect for a hiking trip!
- Wipes – Lots of rocks will be played with, dirt will be played in, a stream will be probably jumped in and mud will be thrown! Also, a lot of dogs are on the trail, and dander/slobber will happen. Wipes are a must have to just get the surface cleaned off to continue going.
- Wetbag – You’ll need a place to place those dirty wipes, along with any wet items your kids will want to bring back!
- Power Pack – You’ll be taking multiple photos of your little one hiking, and probably navigating the trail. Make sure you’re phone doesn’t die, so you don’t get lost and you can take those photos. Highly recommend a power bank that also has solar power, that way you always have power.
- First Aid Kit – A fall or grab of a thorn bush may happen. Make sure you’re prepared to clean the boo-boo out and keep going!
- Book Bag – Of course, you’ll need a book bag to hold all these items! But, your little one will probably want to bring back; rocks, twigs, plants and anything else they find! So instead of carrying the items, just throw them in the book bag!
These nine items will help make sure you and your kids enjoy your hike!
Any recommendations for any hiking paths great for families?
