I was reading the ingredients to instant hot chocolate mix & I was surprised how much stuff was in it!!
I don’t think I need red 40, dipotassium phosphate, white sugar and/or corn syrup. After reading three or four different boxes I pretty much gave up. I also don’t feel like paying an arm and a leg just for some hot cocoa!!
The other week while on Pintrest I found a couple recipes & decided to take out what I didn’t want and change some ingredients. I’m not a fan of white sugar, powdered sugar, and/or Nesquik, so I came up with my own recipe. I made a bunch and just put it in an empty canister we had on the counter.
Ingredients
- 3 Cups Powdered Milk or Coconut Powdered Milk
- 1 1/2 Cups Cocoa
- 2 Cups Raw Sugar
I mixed all the ingredients in a large bowl with a wire whisk and then poured it in the canister. I put in about 1/3 cup of the powder in a coffee mug with bowling water & mix. It’s pretty yummy, add a dash of creamer or handful of mini marshmallows it adds to the yumminess.
