I’ve been so busy for Christmas that I completely forget to get or even make James anything!!  I looked on Pinterest and found the cool idea of a Date Jar.

With a baby coming we know we won’t get to spend much time together and we won’t have much money.  So I made a list of 76 dates that we could take little Zoie-Lynne with us and are inexpensive.

So how I made mine was I took an old Yankee Candle jar, poked the remaining wax with a knife and it came right out.  Then I washed the jar, took the label off.  The remaining gunk and  glue you can get off with a razor blade or just put the jar in a sink full of REALLY hot water & then pull it off and the gunk will come right off.

I then made a label in Photoshop, printed it out and then cut it out.  I put it on with layers of Modge Podge and then sprayed it with clear acrylic spray.  Let it dry between each layer of Modge Podge, it only takes about 5-10 minutes and the layer of acrylic spray only takes about 15 minutes.  Also, make sure you do it in an open space, it smells, put a fan on.

It took me a little bit of time to make the list.  Then cut them out, fold them and put them in the jar.  If you’d like to download my list I’ve shared it on Google Drive, just Click Here.

He liked the gift, which I’m happy about.  So things you’ll need?

Don’t forget you can use this gift for just about every other holiday too.  Valentines Day is coming up!!
